Birkenstock Repairs

Why we repair (and you should too)

By repairing worn Birkenstocks, our workshop keeps on average 3713 pairs out of landfill each year.

By maintaining and repairing your Birkenstocks, you can greatly extend the life of your shoes, which is kinder for both the environment and your wallet!

Almost all Birkenstock styles can be repaired by our skilled technicians at our in-house workshop.

Common Repairs

These are the most common repairs we offer, but if you have a specific request, you can let us know using our contact form below. Please note, we are located in Australia, and cannot assist with repairs internationally.
Resole
If you’ve worn down the tread on your favourite sandals, we can replace the sole. You can choose a classic EVA sole or a Supergrip option.
Toe Piece Repair
Over time, toe loop straps can wear thin, or sometimes even come unstuck. This can be easily repaired

or reglued in our workshop. Plastic toe piece posts are also replaceable.
Cork Repair
Heat moulded cork and latex is used to patch and refill parts of the cork footbed that over time have cracked or crumbled.
Buckle Replacement
We use genuine Birkenstock buckles to replace old, corroded or broken buckles on your favourite sandals. Enquire with our workshop if you would like a different colour or type of buckle.
Leather Patch
Have you let your soles wear through the cork and into the leather of the upper? Not to worry, we are able to patch leather that is worn through to enable a solid repair. Leather patching is sometimes useful to reinforce buckles or rivets that have torn through the leather upper, or if a naughty puppy has chewed your favourite sandals.
Dog Chew Repair
Some puppies just love Birkenstocks! Has your dog chewed your favourite sandals? Contact us to see what we can do to help, it’s not always possible, but often amazing what our talented workshop staff can do to keep your favourites (or your pup’s favourites!) on your feet for longer.
Recycle – Footbed Unit Replacement
A recycle retains the original upper (straps and buckles) of the shoe, replacing the entire cork footbed, liner, and sole. Perfect if you have an older discontinued style you would love to continue wearing.

Our Workshop

Our workshop is operated by a small team of highly skilled technicians.

We use Birkenstock replacement parts for all repairs, and reuse and recycle leather, buckles, and other components to ensure as little waste as possible.

Care to Repair

If your Birkenstocks are used and cared for properly, you will enjoy them for a very long time.

However, some product components are subject to normal wear and tear: This is particularly true for soles as well as for movable shoe components, such as straps, hook-and-loop fasteners and zippers.

But if something does break, you don’t have to part with your favourite shoes. Most of our products can be repaired.

All you need to do is email our workshop using our contact form.
